What these words mean
- Hash
Hash (also known as "hashish") is a concentrate made of the plant's resin glands, called trichomes, separated from the plant and gathered or pressed together. Trichomes are tiny, mushroom-shaped glands on the flower where the plant makes and stores cannabinoids and terpenes. The separation is mechanical (dry sifting, ice water, or hand rubbing), so it uses no chemical solvent.
- Piatella
Piatella is made by curing high-quality live bubble hash for an extended period of time. This allows the terpenes to begin breaking down the trichomes' cell walls, so the resin congeals. Piatella is dabbed similar to live bubble hash, in that it leaves behind plant matter, and should be consumed at low temperatures.
- Sativa
On a menu, "Sativa" signals the effects the seller expects: energizing, uplifting, felt more in the head, suited to daytime. As with Indica, that is tradition and not a measured property.
