What these words mean
- RSO/FECO
Rick Simpson Oil (RSO) and full-extract cannabis oil (FECO) are whole-plant extracts. RSO/FECO are made by soaking cannabis in a solvent, then evaporating the solvent until a thick, dark, tar-like oil remains. FECO is usually made with food-grade ethanol. The original RSO method, popularized by Canadian Rick Simpson in the early 2000s, used harsher solvents such as naphtha or isopropyl alcohol. Today, menus use the two names for the same product. You can use RSO/FECO orally, sublingually, or topically.
- Sativa
On a menu, "Sativa" signals the effects the seller expects: energizing, uplifting, felt more in the head, suited to daytime. As with Indica, that is tradition and not a measured property.
