Big GRP KWI Drops
What these words mean
- Tincture
A liquid cannabis extract in a dropper bottle or with an oral syringe. A tincture is traditionally made with alcohol; however, most tinctures sold today use an oil base, commonly MCT (coconut-derived) oil. Most are made with distillate unless the listing names another extract. The label gives milligrams per milliliter (mg/ml) and per bottle, and the dropper is marked for measuring.
A tincture can be taken two ways:
- A tincture dose held under the tongue (sublingual) for about a minute. Some of the dose is absorbed through the lining of the mouth, and effects may begin in 15 to 45 minutes.
- Swallowed, acting like an edible. Effects begin in roughly 30 minutes to 2 hours.
In practice, part of a sublingual dose is swallowed too, so many people get a mix of both.
- Distillate
A crude cannabis oil that has undergone refinement to mostly one cannabinoid, usually THC or CBD. The plant's other compounds, such as polyphenols, flavonoids, and terpenes, are removed; terpenes or flavorings may be added back afterward.
- Indica
On a menu, "Indica" signals the effects the seller expects: relaxing, sedating, felt more in the body, suited to evening. That expectation is tradition, not a measured property of the product.
