Cap Junky RSO
What these words mean
- Capsule
A measured dose of cannabis extract in a capsule that is swallowed with a liquid. Capsules come as oil sealed in a softgel or as oil or powder in a two-piece shell. Every capsule in a package has the same labeled milligrams, which keeps dosing consistent.
A capsule works like other swallowed products: The body absorbs it through the gut, and the liver processes it before it reaches the rest of the body. Effects typically begin within 30 minutes to 2 hours and last 4 to 8 hours, longer than inhaled forms. Absorption varies from person to person and is higher when taken with fat-containing food.
Note: Capsules are particularly beneficial for those with an aversion to the bitter/unpleasant taste cannabis-containing products can have.
- RSO and FECO
Rick Simpson Oil (RSO) and full-extract cannabis oil (FECO) are whole-plant extracts. RSO and FECO are made by soaking cannabis in a solvent, then evaporating the solvent until a thick, dark, tar-like oil remains. FECO is usually made with food-grade ethanol. The original RSO method, popularized by Canadian Rick Simpson in the early 2000s, used harsher solvents such as naphtha or isopropyl alcohol. Today, menus use the two names for the same product. You can use RSO and FECO orally, sublingually, or topically.
- Hybrid
A plant bred from both indica-type and sativa-type parents. Menus use "Hybrid" for effects described as in between or mixed. The label is often narrowed to indica-dominant hybrid, sativa-dominant hybrid, or balanced ("50/50"). Any percentages given are the breeder's estimate from the plant's family tree, not a measured one.
After decades of crossbreeding, nearly all modern commercial strains are hybrids in the genetic sense, regardless of the label they carry. The label says more about how a product is positioned than about the plant. A listed lineage (the cross) is more specific, but a strain name doesn't guarantee chemistry either.
